Chard Revival

One of the items I planted this year was chard. I like chard and it does fairly well here. Well, it could do fairly well if you can keep the quail away from the tender young leaves and if you pull the competing weeds and if you actually bother to fertilize and enhance your soil.

In spite of my failures, I managed to harvest enough chard for a few meals. I recently noticed that the chard is making a comeback. I was able to pick a nice colander full for dinner tonight. Some of it has gone to seed. My hope is to have an ongoing chard garden.
